Falling Waters, WV January 30th, 2025 Mark Harrell, President and CEO of CNB Bank, is pleased to announce the appointment of Maria Lorensen to CNB Bank’s West Virginia Advisory Board. With an extensive background in nonprofit leadership, marketing, and community service, Maria brings valuable expertise and a deep passion for supporting the local community to this key advisory role.

Maria Lorensen serves as the Development Director at Hospice of the Panhandle, where she leads marketing and fundraising efforts for the 45-year nonprofit. She joined Hospice in 2008 to spearhead the successful “Building the Dream” capital campaign, raising over $4 million to enhance the organization’s facilities. Prior to this, Maria was Editor at The Journal for 12 years and held leadership roles with Jefferson County Schools and various nonprofit organizations.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Maria is deeply involved in the Martinsburg- Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce, where she serves as Board Chair, and the Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport Authority, where she is Secretary. She has received numerous awards for her service, including the 2021 Martinsburg-Berkeley County Citizen of the Year and Rotarian of the Year honors.

Maria and her husband, Michael, have two adult children, Will and Lauree, and reside in Martinsburg, WV. Her commitment to community and leadership aligns perfectly with CNB Bank’s mission of strengthening the communities it calls home.
